Did you know that atoms, like most people, do not like being alone?

Well, that's what usually happens. They like being together forming what is called "Chemical Bond". Our students in 3rd ESO where trying to figure out the way some atoms are joined together to form what are called "molecules". They found that, in many cases, atoms share some of their electrons like you would share a sandwich with your closest friends.

Sharing electrons is what atoms do to fight loneliness and have somebody near whom they can talk to. Unfortunately some atoms are weird (like people) and prefer to be alone. They don't like sharing. They are called noble gases.
